In November of 2003, Matt Polman was given the opportunity of a lifetime, a fully guided trophy deer hunt with an Outfitter in Texas. This trip was given by Matt's brother Jeff Polman who coordinates a private group whitetail hunt every year with his construction company's business partners. During this year, one hunter had to cancel, and Matt was able to fill the spot.
After returning from the trip with memories to last a lifetime and a trophy 185" class to boot, Matt was on a mission to purchase hunting property in his home state of Wisconsin and why not try for the best, Buffalo County!
With luck truly on their side, the Polman's found, as whitetail experts have called it, "a superior farm, with great buck habitat." In fall of 2004, the Hunt 'n Lodge Farm, LLC was opened after an extensive remodel of the lodge was complete.
Matt Polman was born and raised in Wisconsin. His passion includes Musky Fishing and he owns and operates Muskystrike Guide Service and fishes the Professional Musky Tournament Trail. In Fall, Matt is an advid whitetail hunter and spends time scouting his land in Buffalo County. He will not claim to be a professional deer hunting guide or a Buffalo County expert for that matter, but he knows what a quality hunt is all about and has put a lot of effort making The Hunt 'n Lodge Farm truly the best place for private hunting groups. He has consulted in the experts to make the land a haven and breeding groud for trophy bucks. Matt knows the ins and outs of the land and will show you around the property and suggest the best way to hunt the stands. The land has been set up to make it an easy do it yourself hunt for your private or corporate hunting group. Your group sets the rules and runs the hunt how you want.
His wife Kirsten Polman, also a Wisconsin native has put her energy in making the Lodge a perfect place for hunters. An Apparel Merchant, Kirsten knows quality fabrics and has put the best quality sheets and blankets on the beds for a perfect night of sleep, to the fluffy towels in the bathroom, and even has provided terry cloth robes. Now where can you find that ammenity at a lodge where you don't have to take off your shoes to come in?
Kirsten also takes care of all the reservations and can set your group up with a meal plan you'll be savoring over. From locally grown beef that produce steaks that will melt in your mouth to some of Wisconsin favorites including homemade bratwursts and of course Cheese, no one will go hungry.
